Vacation
Vacations are such a wonderful thing. And so needed from time to time. Petey had 10 days off this past week. We spent 5 of them in Tennessee visiting my in laws. There beautiful home and cabin rental business is a perfect place to relax and enjoy Gods beautiful creation. We purposely wanted to get away so that we could relax and literally do nothing. Besides some walks around the property, playing in the creek and one or two outings we did not do much. They have a huge back deck that is covered so we spent a lot of time on there just relaxing. We have the 11 hour drive down to a science now, as long as we drive through the night it is all good. The girls watched a few movies, had some snacks and slept the rest of the time which makes the road trip quite enjoyable. The last 2 hours is always the worst because Peter is exhausted and I can barely keep my eyes open but try to in order to keep him company. The best part about the trip is that the girls get time with their Nee-Nee and Pops!!

They have 7 cabins and not long after they bought the place they decided to name each cabin after one of their grandkids which I love, so every time we go we have to take a pic of the girls at their cabins!!

It was so nice! The rest of the 5 days were spent at home working on our reconstruction. Peter is working on closing in our garage and making it our bedroom. So we will have a 3 bedroom house instead of 2! Yay, can't wait!

Our V-day
We are not huge on celebrating Valentine these days but back in the day my hubby was quite romantic. I remember our very first Valentines day together. We had been together for about 5 months and he made me a 3 course meal, got me a single rose, made me a "mix CD" of some special songs, and then after dinner we went to a cafe and talked for a looong time. It was the best date ever. And I know that is the day I fell in love with my husband!! Since Valentines Day has been kind of special to me but time goes on and kids come in to the family and we just don't really celebrate it any more. Not like we
used to any way.
This year was nice though. I woke up to these tulips! When we were first together I told Peter my favorite flower was tulip because I really didn't know what my favorite was. Tulips are nice but they are def not my favorite, so now its kind of a joke that tulips are my fave. It was sweet. Then he got a little mini one for his other Valentine, Noni girl! She loved it and is so excited to take care of it.
We did go out to a Sweetheart Banquet which was nothing super romantic or anything but it was an outing and dinner with no kiddos which is always nice. It was nice to focus on our marriage and the love that we have that sometimes we take for granted. I am so thankful for my Valentine!!
