Winter Project #2

Curtains! My mom offered to make us curtains for our living room for Christmas. It took us about 3 months to decide on a color. My hubby and I could not agree on what fabric to choose. I love bright patterns and he didn't like my choices. He liked blue and I didn't. So we chose a fern leaf pattern, my mom made them and we hung them up and did NOT like them. They were too dull and blended in with the wall and didn't look good next to the couch. So my mom said she could keep the fern curtains and we went shopping again. This is the only thing we could agree on. Green linen tab curtains. And we love them. My mom is so talented!!

Life with my Two Girls

I feel like I haven’t actually wrote a post in so long. I post pictures but never post much. I don’t have a ton of time on the computer to sit and think and concentrate on anything more than checking email and face book and maybe reading a blog here and there. I have to do what I am doing with this post, which is stay up late and write a little bit here and there until its complete, then post it.

Anyway. I wanted to write about life with my two girls and fill you in on how things have been going for me. Next week will be 4 months and I guess you could say we are kind of in a rhythm. I am not much for schedules and being real strict with times for feeding or sleeping but we have a general routine or rhythm. Every day is different so we kind of just go with the flow of the day and see what happens. Noni is on a pretty set nap schedule though so we usually try and go out in the morning and either run errands, play dates, shopping, visiting friends or whatever else we do and then I really try to be home no later then 2:00 (maybe 2:30). When Noni was a baby she was such a cat-napper so I would rely on driving in the car in order for her to sleep. Since she was about a year old or so she has been taking a good afternoon nap that started out at about an hour long and now is 2 hours every day. I look forward to that break in the day now and my goal every day is to get Evey to nap at that same time. Needless to say that doesn’t always happen.

That was a little bunny trail about naps. Back to life with the girls. Its fun, crazy, chaotic, stressful, tiring, and amazing all at the same time. I still am blown away when I stop and think about the fact that I have 2 girls. Its so wonderful. When I was younger I always dreamed of getting married and having a little girl and now I have two!!! I am so blessed!! In the midst of the craziness I have to stop and remind myself that. “I AM SO BLESSED!” I look forward to all the amazing things me and my girls will do together. Right now with my super energetic 2 year old who is what I would call a “High Needs” child (not high maintenance, that’s totally different) ;) I am pretty worn out at the end of the day. (physically and emotionally) Evey is easy and mellow right now but Noni girl needs a lot of attention throughout the day. Typical two year old I guess. She doesn’t play much by herself yet so she helps me with stuff which then takes twice as long as it should. She has really been doing well with Evey though. She is genuinely interested in her and asks me where Evey is if she can’t find her and wants to touch her and talk to her ALL the time. She struggles to be gentle (of course, shes only 2) but that is my biggest frustration throughout the day. “Noni be gentle, Noni stop touching her face, Noni leave her be please,” like a million times a day. Uhg. And I’m fine if she touches her if Eveys fine with it but she eventually gets sick of Noni pulling on her and poking her. Here of late Noni has been getting rougher and rougher with her so I really have to keep an eye on her. I do love to see them together though. I can’t wait for them to be able to play together.

Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who helps me out a lot. Just tonight he swept the house for me and made dinner for tomorrow night so that I just have to heat it up. I have to ask for it but he gives me time to myself which is desperately needed for my sanity and he helps a lot with Noni girl when he is home. She is really becoming a daddys girl. So life is good. I am going through what every mom goes through, I’m tired, I’m stressed, I am wondering what happened to my old body and the old me but along with all that I am trying to enjoy and savor every moment of motherhood I possibly can because it is the most amazing gift in the world! I wouldn’t trade it for anything!!

P.S. If I would have wrote this post last week it would have been a whole lot more negative. It truly is a challenge of mine to be positive and look at the blessings instead of the trials.

Some Facts About Evey

This little girl is getting soo big. Shes as chunky as can be and getting cuter and cuter every day. Besides being a very easy baby and an overall joy to have around, here are some facts about our little Evey-Girl.
she like her packer. (pacifier) Its so different for me to have a kiddo who takes a pacifier because Noni never did. I tried off and on for a while but she never really liked it. But Evey does! (I have mixed feelings about it but it is nice when we are out and about to have her take it.
She rolled over. It was over a week ago that she rolled over to her belly all by herself. That day she did it like 3 times but since then I think she has only done it once or twice.
Shes smiling and giggling all the time. Just give her some attention and baby-talk to her and she is happy! Love her little dimple!
She sits in her bumbo seat now. Not for long but she likes to be able to see and sit up!
She deals really well with her big sisters constant touching and poking and singing. It takes a good 5 minutes or so for her to fuss and need mommy to rescue her.

Winter Project #1

Winter always seems to be the time to do some home improvement. Well we are not doing any big projects this winter there are a few things on Peters to do list. Number one was shelves. (He is very skilled in wood working. I will show you some pics of his work soon)
We had bought wood for shelves in our bedroom back when we painted our bedroom which was January 2011 and he never got to them. A year later and just a few hours of work we have some amazing green paisley shelves. I love paisleys, always have so that is where the inspiration came from. Daddys "little-helper" helped stain the wood. I love when she can be part of our projects like this!
Heres some pics. (sorry about the really bad flash.)

Did I mention we like color?? Our bedroom is four different colors brown, purple, teal, orange and now we have some green. Luv it!

hot bliggity blog

RRrrrrr. So frustrated right now. I have been trying to change my blog for 45 minutes. They keep changing the settings and stuff and I can't figure it out. Sigh. You probably think Im crazy for how much I change my blog but I get bored easily and I want my blog to represent me. So if I dont truly love the design or style or color then it needs to go. Im not completely happy with it right now but I need to walk away or I am going to scream. and I need to make dinner. Ta Ta for now!

My little ballerina!!!!!

Noni girl is obsessed with ballet right now. I really have no idea how it started except that she has some jammies with ballerinas on them and my mom got her slippers that look like ballet shoes. One day she just started dancing and said "look at me mom, Im a ballerina." I thought it was so cute but figured it was a one time thing or wouldn't last real long. Well that was back in December and she still is into it. She probably dances every day and she definitly dresses up every day and says she looks like a ballerina. She has worn her tutu (which I got for her a long time ago for dress up and she barely ever wore) out in public numerous times now. I have a movie about ballet ("Center Stage") that my best friend in High School used to watch together and we wished we could dance like that. I put it in one day and showed Noni the dances and she has been "dancing" like that ever since. She stretches and kicks and spins. She also has gotten ballerina books from the library which we look for every time we go. I am considering doing a mommy and me ballet class with her but we'll see. I love watching her dance!!

Bunk beds!!!

Noni got bunk beds!! Its a little early but a friend of mine offered them to me and they were free so they had my name all over them. We set them up right away just because we have no place to store them. Noni loves them but insists that the top bunk is for Evey. She is a little nervous about the top bed and has no interest in sleeping up there just yet. Her and daddy play up there though. We have some time for her to accept that the top is for her. Maybe to start we will have to seperate the beds to start. Again thats going to be a while!

So crazy that I have a set of bunkbeds and two kids to fill them with. I feel like it was just yesterday that we were setting up the crib for the first time. Just CRAZY!!!
