Our week(s)

I really enjoyed my winter this year. I handled much better than I usually do. I didn't get cabin fever until March when we got teased with nice weather and then the bitter weather came back. In case you haven't picked up on it I love, love, love, summer. Bring on the heat! But Spring is so beautiful too. It eases us into the heat of the summer nice and gently. Or not so gently, its been quite warm this past week, which love but a lot of people say its too hot too soon. I love being able to have every window in the house open and being woken up by birds singing and the sun peaking around the curtains. I love changing over my wardrobe and putting away those frumpy sweaters and sweat pants. Give me capris, tanks, and flip flops and I am a happy chick. I love planting my garden and watching flowers bloom all of a sudden in our flower bedds. Although I enjoy all these things Noni has helped me enjoy even more little things. Like taking walks on our road, playing on all the local playgrounds we can possibly find, or just playing with a bucket of water on our back patio. I love that she can play with sticks for hours and think dandelions are the coolest thing ever. It's so fun to watch her play outside, she just comes alive. As do I! So heres what we've been up to.

Easter FUN!

We had a lovely holiday! We painted easter eggs with friends on Friday and Noni had so much fun. She loves eggs now. I had been accumulating all kinds of stuff for Nonis easter basket and was so excited to give it to her. I love buying her stuff so this was the perfect time to get some things I knew she would love. Lots of pink, girly stuff, some Mickey stuff, (her favorite right now) and a ball to play with outside. Oh and of course some chocolate. We lost track how much she ate that day. Oh well. We sat outside and tried out her new side walk chalk. Then we went to Grandma Dees for dinner and easter egg hunts, and more presents. Praise the Lord for a beautiful sunny day!

Blogging

Sometimes I wonder why I blog. I wonder what is the point. I don't have a clue how many people actually read it. I hope to encourage and inspire people with my words but Im not a good writer and sometimes Im just not very inspiring. I haven't been posting much because I just don't know what to write. There isn't much going on and I just dont know. Then I heard this guy on the radio making fun of people with blogs who just write what they do and have one or no comments and blah blah blah. And I was like HEY thats me.

So I have been thinking. I love blogging...when I am in the mood to do it. I do have inspiring things to write every now and then. And I love reading other peoples blogs and seeing whats going on in their life. What they are feeling and how life is going. I have connected with so many mama bloggers that have encouraged me and just helped me realize there are others going through the same things I am. It is so neat to see other mamas and other families and what their life is like.

It is wierd not knowing who is reading what you write and Im sure some of you wonder who is reading your own blog. I am challenging myself to comment more. I barely ever comment on others blogs and I want to change that. I know how much I appreciate reading what others comment on my blog.

Anyway. Phewy to the radio man I like blogging and even if there is only 1 comment every now and then I am going to keep blogging!!!!

Fun in the SuN and rAiN!

We have been a little under the weather around here. Peter and I both were sick last week and I guess since Im pregnant it has taking me longer than usual to re-coop.
The weather has been back and forth for a week or two now from rain to nice sunny days. So you better believe that when its nice we are outside soaking it up. Having picnics, going to parks, hanging out wash, and working in my flower beds. You know what they say April showers bring May flowers! Come on May!!

Tennesseeeeeeeeeee

I can't believe it has only been a week since we were in TN. It seems like so much longer for some reason. Where to start. It was such a fun trip. It was the first real trip/vacation we have taken as a family (the three of us) besides the beach. I was dreading the 12 hour drive but it actually was ok. We left at 3am so Noni slept the first 3+ hours. She read all her books and watched a Veggie Tales and Cars movie. (Thank the lord for our mini TV) I slept off and on, Peter drank coffee, and we stopped 3 times to stretch our legs. Then we were there.

Two and a half days of unloading, setting up house, relaxing, hiking, eating, and lots of family time. It was so beautiful there. My in laws chose an amazing place to call home. They both loving nature and being outdoors and they will definitly get there fill of that. They have a mini waterfall and a creek in there back yard, the national forest with tons of hiking paths meets right up to there property and a huge wrap around porch with a roof on it so even if its raining they can be outside. They are heading in to there busy season so they have lots to do to get things ready.

The hardest part of course was saying good bye. We all were trying not to even think about that part until the time came. That moment when everything was packed up in the car we just had get in. It was hard. We hugged and cried and promised to write and call and stay in tune with eachothers life and then we drove away. My heart ached at the thought of my Noni girl not being able to see her Nee-Nee and Poppy regularly. They will miss holidays and birthdays and the every day life stuff and that if the hardest part to accept. I know people do it all the time. Move away and only see each other a few times a year but this will take some time to get used to. We will stay in touch and we will see them and our times together will be special. We are already planning our next trip down in May. Yay. So heres some photos from the trip.

She is such a trooper!

Baby Tanner Noni and her cousins, who she adores. Noni waiting to get in the hot tub. She fell in the creek, we think Nee-Nee pushed her. The Hackeltons + Noni Our nature girl! One of our many walks. Good Bye!!

Etsy

So I did it. I opened an Etsy shop. My very own shop. I have a many many people say that I should do this but kept talking myself out of it. I started sewing just for something to do while Noni naps but then I was sewing stuff and not knowing what to do with it. Why not try and sell it. I would love to sell at craft fairs or something like that but with a little one it would be kind of impossible. Etsy is the perfect way to get started. We'll see how it goes. Im really excited about this but still learning how to use Etsy! Check it out and keep it in mind if you need any kind of shower, birthday, mothers day gifts. Keni Laceys Odds N Ends
