Wash weekend!!

Yup its that kind of weekend! Three loads today and maybe one more tomorrow!! Of all my housework I think laundry is my favorite thing to do. Its so much better than cleaning!! Especially now that Peter put up a wash line for me. It took 2 summers of me patiently waiting. Its an interesting way he set it up and it is flourecent green but hey it works great! What more could I ask for!

And it gives me and Noni something else to do outside. She loves being outside and walking in the grass. She always dumps the clothespins and stands on the cement well cover thingy thats in our yard. This is her favorite position. We call it her little sumo(splg?) squat.

Gardening is for the birds!

Our garden is doing pretty well but we are kind of frustrated by it. It is a lot of work and we just can’t keep up with it. The weeds never stop. You’re probably saying “duh Keni” but I am still new to this whole gardening thing. We have so many bugs eating up everything and a chipmonk that lives in our flowerbeds and digs holes everywhere.

We have gotten some beans, zucchini and cucumbers. The lettuce and swiss chard are done and the tomatoes are coming but they look like crap. It’s just kind of depressing knowing we are doing everything we know to do and stuff just doesn’t grow.

As much as we really do love the little bit we have gotten from it we aren't sure if its worth it. Im not saying we arent going to have one next year but it will certainly be a much simpler selection and making some changes. Its been an experience thats for sure. We'll see!

Tidbits from our week!

Ever since she was sick last week she has been very clingy so I have been using the Mei Tie quite a bit these days!
Over size tie-dye bed shirt for Noni. I love it she looks sooooo cute in it!!
Carrot juice mustache. We started juicing again this week. Took a little brake because we cut back on our produce budget but now with all the fresh produce from the garden we were inspired to start again. And we are keeping them simpler more basic combos like carrot and apple or celery and zucc. MMmm. Noni enjoys it too!
My twin brother is finally getting married to his girl friend of 4 years. We knew they would be getting married for a while but there was no ring because they were waiting for her to get done school. Well this is her last year so he did it, he gave her a ring. Im so excited for them!!
We had an unplanned beach trip pop up this week. My mom wanted to take my niece and nephew to the beach since they have never been there and my dad didn't want to go since he hates the beach so she invited me and Noni. And of course I said YES. Long story short we took a bunch of wrong turns and didn't get there til 1pm. Then it started raining so we decided to stay the night so we could have more time at the beach. It was my first time (besides when I was in the hospital) spending the night away from Peter and Nonis first time too. Lucky for us Noni will sleep any where mommy is so we slept great! Im glad we stayed but I was definitly ready to come home and see my Petey!
Noni would cling to me at the water. I think it was too cold for her.
Brother & Sister had a blast in the water!

That's what I am loveing about my summer. Spontanaity, sunshine, quick thunder storms that come and go, fresh juice, and memories made. Looking forward to a fun weekend! Ta ta for now!

Bllaahh! Blah! Blah!

Two blogs, two blank pages, what to write. I always feel like my post should be so important and full of great wordy eplanations or revelations about my life or something like that. I had plans of writing a beautiful meaningful post today ( i dont even remember about what) and it totally got squashed. My creativity and desire and inspiration have all gone out the door simply because my girl would not take a nap. Uh. She is a stubborn one and I messed it up by going to the grocery store and waking her up instead of letting her sleep but then when I wanted her to sleep it was just not happening. Now Im exhausted, touched out, frazzled, and just want to sleep but now is my time to write. Shes out for a walk with daddy but I have nothing to write. Atleast nothing super fantastic, so I write this. My life, my situation, how i feel right now inorder to begin to let go of the stress of my day. I love having a place to do that. Sending my thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears, and whatever else off into cyberworld. SSSiiiggghhh. Im already feeling better. So instead of listening to me babble on check out some of my favorite blogs and be inspired!

The BEACH

Man these summer days are flying by so quickly and I just can’t seem to find the time to write as much as usual. I guess that’s okay though I’ve been living life, soaking up this amazing time of year, and the amazing stage of life my sweet girl is in.

We went to the beach this week for the day with my cousin and Grandma D. I love road trips with just us girls but especially when the beach is our destination. As much as I love the beach (when I say love I mean lloooovvee, I’d move their if I could) I knew this trip was going to be very different than normal with my 10 month old Noni who doesn’t sit still for anything. But I wanted to give it a try.

It turned out we made a wrong turn so we got there much later then we were planning on and it was really cloudy and cool til 12 or so. Then the sun came out and Noni got a little burnt in no time. She didn’t sit at all, got sand all over our blankets, kept throwing sand, trying to eat shells, rubbing her eyes with sandy hands, and didn’t like the water at all. BUT we had a great time. I got my 45 minutes of sun time while she slept in her car seat so I was happy.

It’s always so satisfying coming home from a long day in the sun to relax in the air conditioning. The slight sun burn makes your skin feel warm so you need a sweat shirt or blanket to stay warm. And the sun just takes so much out of ya so we slept really good that night.

I’m really looking forward to our next trip with Petey in August.

Family

You got to love family picnics especially when there is a pool, and beautiful sunshine, and new little babies to pass around. On sunday my mom had a family picnic and if you don't know she is a triplet. So there is three sisters who have 3-5 five kids who are all either getting married or having babies or both so you do the math. Theres alot of us and the number is still growing. We took some family photos which was interesting with a bunch of little ones who are looking every which way but they turned out pretty good.

Great grandparents with all their great grandkids

Happy 4th!!!

We had such a lovely weekend. I love holidays so much simply because it gives us americans a reason to have a day or two off from work, hang out with family, do special things that you don't always do, eat lots of yummy food, be outside, and celebrate! And for that I love holidays!!

Friday Peter and I had our own little cook out on our patio and had a chimanea fire since it was still cool weather. We hung out outside all evening soaking in as much of the outdoors as we could since we knew this heat was coming. We roasted marshmellows, read some books, and took turns chasing Noni away from the flowers that she so wanted to smash or from eating the little pebbles that are just so tempting and making sure she doesn't fall out of her new little car that she climbs all around in. Sigh...not quite as relaxing as it used to be when we sat outside.

Saturday we slept in and enjoyed a lazy morning then went to Starbucks for a coffee date. MMMMmmm! A great way to start my morning. There is a fountain right outside of the one we went to for kids to play in and its FREE! So Nonah and I are becoming a regular there. Hehe. Its something to do and she loves it. She already is a big time water girl. So this was the first time daddy got to see her in the fountain. It was fun. Then I went for a run which was so theraputic, I think I might try and do that more regularly. Then we just chilled in the AC the rest of the night.

Sunday was family picnic day. We spent the whole day at my in laws. We ate lots of food, visited, played crouqet, and just relaxed. The kids went in the little kiddie pool which was so nice. Nonah had lots of fun with her cousins!

Over all we had a very relaxing fun weekend! Now its back to reality! Wahoo!

Date Night

This is only the second “date night” we have had since Nonah was born. We had Nee-Nee and Poppy watch her and we went back home to have dinner and a movie. Romantic right? Well we ended up just having BLTs (as simple as it comes) showering and started to watch the movie and just did not want to watch it. We turned it off and I went on the internet (created this blog) and Peter played Xbox. Not really the romantic plan at all but it was soooooooooo nice to take care of ourselves and not have to think about the little one at all. I could think of something and do it without getting distracted or it taking 10 min til I get to it.

It’s amazing how true the saying is “absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
I love my little honey bee so much but that 3 hours of space is so rejuvenating. I feel refreshed, reconnected to my husband, less stressed, more focused, and even more in love with her than I already was. Not having her around all night reminds how much of our attention she does take up. I was able to think clearly and remember what it used to be like.

Peter and I really missed her by the end of the night. We wanted to go so we could see her. We missed her so much but needed that space SO much. You mamas out there know what I mean.
