I seriosly love decorating my house. It is my space that I can do whatever I want with! When I was first married I would redecorate my tiny one bedroom apartment every single week when I cleaned. I loved it. When Peter would get home I would ask him if he could tell what was different.
I obviously dont have time for that anymore. So now I just decorate once or twice a year and one of those times is CHRISTMAS! Peter brought home a tree for us on Friday and we all decorated. Noni helped! It was so cute to see her unload all the ornaments. She would put the ornament up to the tree and let go without hooking it. So fun!!

Weather-Oh and Turkey day!
“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is
exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only
different kinds of good weather.”
Lovely lovely lovely. My turkey day was so lovely. For some reason it didnt feel like thanksgiving for me this year. Its like I was going through the motions but it wasn't the real deal. BUT....it was....so I tried to enjoy it. The morning went fast because I was working on coleslaw and mashed potatoes and watching the parade with Nonah. I screwed up the potatoes by letting them cool before mashing them (it makes them pastey, who knew?!) and then forgot to get the slaw out of the fridge for dinner. So bummed but oh well. The snow was fun and festive! Overall we had a nice relaxing day!

Crafty-girl*
(my craft area)
I feel like I have been hibernating or something. In the summer I made plans almost everyday in order to get out of the house but lately I have been connecting with that inner crafty-girl that's been hidden for a while and have really been enjoying my time at home.
With Christmas coming (and our tight budget) I tried thinking of something I could make. My mom has a handy-dandy portable sewing machine that shes been letting me barrow so I have been busy with that. (pics after C-mas)
I also have been inspired by the Etsy shop Poor Pitiful Pearl (so cute, I love her stuff, her button is on the left of my blog) and have come up with some ideas of my own. I have been embellishing some shirts with patches and some fave fabric. I love patches and one of a kind clothing. Every day that I am home I sew something.
Here is some of my projects:
This was from a tshirt that was too small on me, the elephant was too cool to pass up so I cut it out and sewed it on a different shirt.
Love it! I have a list of so many more ideas and would love to have my own Etsy shop some day, but we'll see!!

Holidays are just around the corner!
Yay for holidays! I am trying to not look too far ahead but it is so hard. The one thing that gets me through this cold weather is the holidays. I love the holidays. All the hustle bustle. Thanksgiving starts it off perfectly with the parade and yummy dinner with family. Then Christmas shopping and wrapping presents. Give me a reason to shop and I am in love. I love looking for that perfect gift for everyone and baking special treats that I only make once a year. (This years goal is gluten free pumpkin roll) I LOVE the tree and ornaments and lights. I love stuffing stockings with silly fun things. I love getting together with friends and family simply because it’s the holidays. Oh and I do love getting gifts. I’ll admit it.
I will say though, that our society has gotten a little carried away with how much people spend not only on gifts but on decorations and all the extra unnecessary “stuff.” Peter and I keep it pretty simple. I have one tub of decorations and one tub of ornaments and that’s it. Most of it was given to me from my mom. And we are keeping gifts very simple this year too. I am making something for the ladies in my family (Ill tell you later) and the guys um…I don’t know yet. Grandparents are getting Noni pictures and we already got Nonah some toys from yard sales.
This holiday season though I am most looking forward to sharing it with my Noni girl! It was her first Christmas last year but she was only 4 months old but this year Noni is going to have a blast. She loved getting presents at her birthday so Christmas will be soooo fun. She is really into helping me these days too so I can’t wait to decorate with her. And the lights and just everything is so much more special when you see it through her eyes. I love being able to show her new things and watch her be amazed and experience it for the first time. It is just going to be so fun! Love the holidays!!

I am ready!
I am so ready! For what you ask? For more. For more relationship and less religion.
For more of God. For a place to go where people understand that hunger for more. For a place to be accepted and loved and encouraged. For a place to bless and be blessed. For a place to grow and learn and share and give. For a place to settle in and get comfy. For a place where I can be so real it hurts. For a place where I can worship with as much freedom as I can imagine. For a place that wants God and not people.
I am ready! I am ready for a change. A life change. A change of scenery. Something. I feel God is preparing us for something but I don't know what, where or when. But whatever it is I am ready I am!
But for now I am fine! I am trying to cherish this stage of life we are in. The hunger and openess I have been feeling. The lessons God has been teaching me. I feel like God is building our foundation right now. Mine and Peter's parenting foundation. Figuring out what we believe and what kind of parents we are now and are going to be in order to parent our best.
I don't know what else to say except that I am ready, BUT I am fine! Hence the song!

Grocery shopping!
I love grocery shopping. I really do. It's my one time where I don't feel guilty for spending money because hey we NEED to eat. I love how it breaks up my day when I have nothing else going on. I do try to get the deals and I love remembering and using coupons. Once I had Nonah it became a whole new experience. I started to not be able to wander every aisle and look but to get in and get out before she needed to nurse or had a melt down. I loved carrying her in the sling and wrap and shed sleep and no one would even know wether she was a boy or girl they would just look and say awwww. I have gotten so many looks and compliments on the sling that I use. Its like its a new invention or something. Then as she got older she would sit in the wrap face out and kick and drool and Id get more stares and compliments. Oh I miss that tiny little girl who loved to be snuggled close to her mama. Then she was big enough to sit in the cart which was bitter sweet. It was fun to watch her enjoy this new experience but sad because she was getting to big to wear the whole shopping trip.
That brings me to the present. Sigh. Now she doesn't want to ride in the cart she wants to push the cart herself. And grab things to put in the cart and climb out or stand up in it. It has turned into quite a frustrating time because theres always some crying involved in her not getting what she wants. So unless I keep the trip quick we have now turned grocery shopping into a date night. YUP a date to the store and Peter comes with to help with Nonah and walk with her when shes had enough. Sometimes I think I am going to use it as ME time and leave those two at home.
So we go with the flow here and make changes where we need in order to make life with a 14 month old a little easier!
Nonis first time in the cart, back in April.
